Employees of several Vegas casinos are suing employers

The Culinary Workers Union is suing several gambling establishments in Las Vegas for not providing adequate protection for their employees. Referring to a document that regulates the measures necessary for dangerous working conditions, the current practice in the casino is called dangerously inadequate.

The defendants are cafes and restaurants in several casinos: MGM Grand, Bellagio, Harrah's. They are accused of the fact that due to their negligence in safety, employees contracted the coronavirus. Claims are made in particular to the fact that the establishments did not inform employees that their colleagues were infected, and cafes, restaurants and bars did not close for thorough disinfection of the workplace.

The representative of the union said that this is only the beginning of their litigation with irresponsible employers. It was said that the union will continue to collect evidence of unsafe working conditions and will support those who dare to testify.

The union has also demanded company-sponsored coronavirus testing before employees return to work, as well as regularly during work hours. Plus, the provision of all means of personal protection and the publication of plans for security on the Internet from each casino.
